My Area

Central Scotland Police recognise the need to have a strong personal link with the communities they serve. Through it's commitment to Community Policing, the Force has laid the firm foundations which will both support and enhance the acknowledged policing philosophy of Safer Central, which embraces the primary objectives aligned to Community Planning and Community Engagement.

In addition to the work carried out by the Community Safety Policy Unit with local partner agencies and at a national level; local Community Officers provide a close and individual liaison right in the heart of communities.

These officers have an intimate knowledge of their respective areas and attend a number of meetings such as Community Councils, youth clubs and other community organisations where they listen to the needs of local people.

Community Officers also provide the link with primary and secondary schools in the area working closely with teachers and pupils and are heavily engaged in delivering the Restorative Justice programme with young people who have offended.

Community Officers are also trained to provide advice on domestic and personal security.
