Repeat Victimisation Scheme
Central Scotland Police strives to provide a high level of service to all victims of crime, including victims of racist crime.
From the moment a racist incident is reported a series of enquiries begins.
Apart from investigation of the circumstances carried out by the officer who comes to take the report (the Enquiry Officer), details will be passed to the Community Officer for your area.
Your Community Officer will research any previous history to your complaint. The result of that research will dictate the intensity of support which your Community Officer and the rest of the Force will provide.
You can expect some or all of the following to take place, depending on your individual circumstances:
- a letter will be sent offering advice and assistance
- your case will be referred to Victim Support unless you specifically reject it
- you will be kept informed of developments in the enquiry
- you may be visited by your Community Officer and a safety and security survey may be carried out
- a multi-agency case conference may be called
- your case may be referred to the Safer Businesses for Ethnic Minorities scheme.
For further information please contact your Community Officer or local police office.
