Complaints About the Police

Complaints and Conduct

Central Scotland aims to deliver the highest possible standards of policing whilst acting in a professional caring and sensitive manner. Occasionally, this high standard of service falls short of the expectations of the public and of Central Scotland Police itself.

The Complaints and Conduct Department located within the wider Force Professional Standards Department, co-ordinates the investigation of complaints about the Force and members of the Force. The Department acts on behalf of and reports directly to the Deputy Chief Constable who has statutory overall responsibility for disciplinary matters within the Force.

The Department undertakes investigations into complaints of criminal or serious breaches of conduct whilst complaints of a non criminal and less serious nature and those concerning the quality of service provided, may be dealt with by a senior officer at local level.

The Professional Standards Department is headed by a Superintendent and is based at Police Headquarters, Randolphfield, Stirling.
