Records Bureau
The Force Records Bureau is one of the unseen areas of the Force which provides essential information to both operational police officers and to the wider Criminal Justice community.
Force Records Bureau is staffed by 1 Records Bureau Manager, 2 Team Leaders, 7 police staff and 1 police constable. The team are responsible for the updating of the Scottish Criminal History System and the Police National Computer as well as various local databases.
As a result of the Scottish Criminal Justice Information Systems (ISCJIS), all cases to be reported to the Crown Office Procurator Fiscal Service and the ChildrenĘs Reporter must now be recorded on these national databases initially.
With the publication of the Bichard Inquiry, the department is now also measured by various national targets regarding the speed and accuracy of updates to these national systems.
