Performance Review

Central Scotland Police, in common with other forces throughout Scotland set and monitor targets for certain key aspects of service. By monitoring force performance against these targets, or performance indicators, we strive to improve the overall quality of the service delivered, ensuring that user expectations of the service are matched to their perceptions of the service actually delivered.

The qualitative and quantitative data produced under the Performance Management System is used for internal management control and to satisfy the needs of the Accounts Commission for Scotland, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary and the General Public.

We recognise that measurement is the key to controlling our processes, making them more efficient and raising the quality of service ultimately delivered to the community. It is a fact that several of our service targets are the toughest set by any police force in the country.

Our service targets and performance against them are periodically reviewed to ensure they remain current and a stimulus for improved performance. The following are some of the areas in which performance monitoring was carried out.
