Personnel Services
This section of the Human Resources department is responsible for the efficient delivery of all personnel services relating to both police and support staff.
In addition to a myriad of routine personnel functions, this section of the department also deals with the more complex personnel issues such as equal opportunities, employment law, part-time working, absence management and support staff discipline.
The section is entirely staffed by fully qualified and trained support staff thereby ensuring that the right people are carrying out these functions.
Equal Opportunities
All members of staff receive equal opportunities training and all new staff receive similar training as part of their induction process.
The force is a member of the Equality Exchange which was formed in an effort to ensure that employers, trainers and consultants are kept up-to-date with legal and practical developments in the field of equal opportunities. The force is also a member of the East of Scotland Equal Opportunities Club, which consists of local authorities, businesses and police forces.
The Force is also involved in a forum attended by equal opportunities officers from all Scottish Forces. This is a useful method of ensuring the adoption of best practice throughout the service. Central Scotland Police is also represented on NEOTS, the National Equal Opportunities Training Strategy Group, which meets at the Scottish Police College.
