Human Resources
Central Scotland Police prides itself upon the quality of its staff, and recognises the efficiency and effectiveness of the force depends upon the standard of service delivered. Staff selection, retention and development is an area of vital importance. Central Scotland Police is a people-centred organisation and each individual is recognised as a vital and valuable resource.
The aim of the Human Resources Department is to ensure that all employees are equipped with the knowledge, skills and professionalism to enable them to give their best to serve the needs of our communities and ensure the welfare and health of all our staff.
All members of our organisation have a right to be treated equally, regardless of their race, creed, colour or gender. This is reflected in the aims and objectives of the Human Resources Department and its commitment to the Force Diversity strategy.
The Department, under the command of Mr Graham Noble, have continued to ensure that we recruit the right calibre of people and once recruited their skills and knowledge are developed for the good of the individual and the organisation.
As part of an effective recruitment process the Department has increased the number of Police and Support Staff qualified as assessors to participate in the recruitment selection for police and support staff. These assessors are trained to a high level and are the only members of staff to take part in staff selection and assessment. This pool of highly trained individuals ensures that the recruitment process and therefore the recruits are of the highest calibre.
The Human Resource Department is recognised as an important part of the management structure of the Force and as a result of the recent force restructure the Department is now part of Corporate Management Division. The Department's position in the force structure ensures a closer link between personnel, welfare and professional standards issues, resulting in a better quality of service.
